The Iceland Carbon Fund has hired KPMG to audit the Fund. KMPG will also certify the carbon sequestration calculation mechanism on the Fund’s webpage, where carbon dioxide emissions and the number of trees needed for offsetting purposes are calculated, as is the cost of planting. KPMG will certify and express an opinion on data released by the Iceland Carbon Fund on an annual basis with respect to planting and measurements of carbon sequestration, which takes place every five years. The purpose of the certification is to ascertain whether the aforementioned data on planting and sequestration is reliable and within normal margins of error.
To encourage the people of Iceland to be the first nation in the world to offset all transportation-related carbondioxide emissions
